Scrap metal options

What options are available near the area for scrap metal?
I have some steel that would like to take in, instead of going to the landfill.

Up in White Twp. on 519 just before 46, behind the Kabota place. That's where we take all of our scrap. I think it's called S&L.

Do they pay you for it? We have alot and wondering if its worth it to gather it up and bring it in?

Yes Christine, they pay you for it. Prices are different for each type of metal.

I don't know and s and l, but rock away will only take it if it's at least 500 pounds of steel.

The one on 519 right turn just before S&L up on the hill pays cash no limit, clean yard. Forget Kucharski he gives you a check and his yard is a Nightmare!

Rockaway will take less than 500lbs to recycle, but they will only pay on drop offs over 500lbs. I use George's in Newton next to the Shop Rite.

George's scrap in Newton behind the Shoprite. We take our scrap there from work.

steel / iron is not worth much, (0.08- 0.12 per pound) unless you have a lot of it, it's not even going to pay for the gas to bring it there.

Last year steel dropped to .05. I still got $100 for a truck full of stuff. Steel isn't worth much per pound but it's heavy. Way heavier than copper, titanium, aluminum, all stuff that's worth way more but you often don't have scrap of.

BEG - When you are ready, just go up Brass Castle to the blinking light/four way stop in White Twp. Make a right onto 519, go a little over a mile and it's on your right.

BTW - Since it's Easter, I just remembered your moving day. I can't believe it's two years already!
