RIP Billy Joe Royal

Great singer of the 60's. One of his top songs was "Down in the Boondocks".

We also lost Frankie Ford last week, famous for the 1950's song "Sea Cruise":

Down in the boondocks was one of my favorites when I was a teenager.

I recently wrote on another thread that I used to walk through Baltimore, alone, at night ... something no parent would let their 13-year old do in this day and age.

Down in the boondocks is a good description of the neighborhoods I walked through.
Now, that same area is a tourist haven, with hotels, restaurants, WOW! Other parts of the city .... not so nice.

"One fine day I'll find a way, to move from this old shack...
I'll hold my head up like a king, and I never, never will look back ..."

Inspirational words ... RIP Billy Joe Royal
