Rebecka Thank you, thank you, forum friends! I had a great birthday. We went to Atlantic City for two nights for a last chance getaway before we become parents! Resorts gave us two free nights and we used comp money for almost all of our meals, so an affordable getaway too. My present was tickets to see Journey and Rascal Flatts at Boardwalk Hall and it was a great concert.
Happy to be home with our Lucky and time to start getting this house ready for baby!

tracy, how did you get two free nights? and comp money? how does one get hooked up with that?
BrotherDog, Resorts was recently bought by Mohegan Sun and my inlaws are in CT and we have player's club cards. My husband's grandmother also plays with his card a lot. I think because of that, they sent us a promotion for the two free nights (Sun-Thurs) which came with $10 in free comp money. Plus he had comp money on his Mohegan Sun card that we could also use, which was accumulated previously. We have also stayed at Golden Nugget a couple times and have their player's club card which gave us two free buffets that we used for breakfast this morning. My husband is very thrifty, so he likes to take advantage of any good deals. :o)
I guess my advice would be to sign up for Player's Club cards when/if you visit the casinos. They will often comp you stuff to get you there to spend more money, which you won't have to if you're smart ;o)
thanks, i never do any of that stuff, i don't know anything about players cards? are they like credit, affinity or debit cards?
we never gamble. but we could really use a couple of free nights in a hotel, (any hotel at the shore would do)

Rascal Flatts was great. It was a good concert. Really long. Journey played a solid 90 minutes and RF another 90. Plus Cassadee Pope (apparently she won The Voice) opened and sang for 30 minutes. Really good show.
The Player's Club cards are just free cards you get at the casinos. You don't have to gamble but if you sign up, you're more apt to get the freebies. We each got $50 in free slot play at Borgata and we've only been there once.

A belated Happy Birthday! Just curious, we were going to get tickets a couple weeks back for the Journey concert you saw but had to cancel because of a family commitment. My wife is a big Journey fan and I had to explain to her the original 1980's lead singer that charted all those MEGA hits, Steve Perry, is not with the current "Journey" band. There is a Filipino lead singer that is in the Group now that sounds just like Steve Perry and has taken over live lead vocals in concert named Arnel Pineda: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnel_Pineda

Vic Hi Vic, actually, I think most of the original Journey members are gone, but they still put on a good show. The lead singer does sound a lot like Steve Perry. I think I remember watching a "Behind the Music" episode once when they found him. My opinion might not be the best though, since I was born in the early 80's when the original Journey was big. I certainly enjoyed it though.
