Looking for local General Practitioner Recommendations
Hi everyone! I did a search on this topic, but the threads I found were about 2 years old. We are looking for a new General Practioner here in Hackettstown. I know this is the best place to turn for some great recommendations :) Thanks for your help!
Dr. Merkle. He is a GP for babies all the way to seniors. I love him! Spends time with you. Easy to get an appointment, He works with a Nurse practitioner so if you just have minor problems she can take care of it. Office staff are great!
Dr. Antonella Auciello, in the willow grove doctor's building next to the hospital - I have worked with several other gp's in the area and she is, by far, the best. Thorough, compassionate, follows up and works with a nurse practitioner as well... excellent at "putting the whole picture" together...
Dr. Merkle hands down! He is an awesome Doctor. We have been seeing him for the past 5 years!
I'm an Ingrassia fan as well. And I'm "one of those people" who don't like going to doctors for ANYTHING. I'm also an INFORMED patient, a "DIY" guy. Ingrassia LISTENS, doesn't dictate.
I like Dr. Ingrassia too. Has anyone had issues with her staff? Don't always get a call back and I always have to follow up for test/ blood work results.
I'm 50/50 with the staff calling me with test results. But I consider than a minor annoyance compared to finding a doc I can work WITH. (or, I should say, will work WITH ME)
Dr. Merkle and Priscilla (nurse practitioner)............I ask for scrip for bloodwork ahead of time so he has my results when I come in for my appointment.
I have never had an issue with the staff at Dr. Ingrassi's office. I receive my results when they come in. The other thing I like besides her bed side manner and compassion is the onsite lab. I don't have to go to her facilities for that, and I was also informed the other day when I was there that a cardiologist works out of the office every couple of weeks.
Yes, I am seeing that cardiologist... Dr Limandri. He works out of Morristown (heart care central, LOL) and is at HCP every 2-3 weeks.
@ JeffersonRepub-Please pm me after and let me know how he is. They want me to see him as well, but leary because I never heard or knew anyone that has gone to him.
I don't like Dr Angrassi or her staff. I don't believe in labs at the doctor's office. That is a "conflict of interest".
Dr Auciellio is wonderful. I have heard Dr Merkel is excellent.
Dr Fedich (chiropractor) is super and has a nice setup for Physical Therapy.
Love dr Ingrassia! Been going there for years! My husband has been going there as well. Loves her as well
I liked Dr. Ingrassia. We hit it off and I felt very comfortable talking with her...but her office/business staff leaves a lot to be desired. I visited August 2014 and told her staff up front when I made the appointment that I did NOT have insurance. When I visited the office I reiterated that I did not have insurance and would be paying the full amount that day. They told me the charge was $75, and I paid it before I left.
One month later I was billed an additional charge of $145 for the "balance due" on my visit.
This forum is quite old so maybe I can get some recent recommendations? Have heard good about Raza, Merkle, Auciello and Chang. How are the office staff? Do you wait long? I care mostly about the dr but I do hate when you wait forever!
Just switched to Jamie Rygielsli at Hackettstown Family Medicine..could not be happier. Also great office staff!
Love Dr. James McGraw at Premier Health Associates in Andover. Never a wait and he actually spends time with you. It’s worth the drive.
Merkle and his pa.....very nice and helpful office staff - can get same day appointment if I'm really ill.....also good "my chart" site for communications, test results etc...
I wouldn't use Dr. Auciello. The office staff are cold and not nice either. The assistant to her is running HER office.
Dr. Merkel is wonderful.
I heard Jamie Rygielski was good. She is just young with not experience.
Bernie ... Jamie is young but she dx me correctly and sent me to all the right specialists after my experienced gp that I went to for over 15 years did not have a clue what was wrong with me . She is amazing and took her time to listen and really looked over my history . The staff is lovely ( I manage a large group practice so I always like to see a well run office), and there in no wait when I or family have gone there, and added bonus they draw my labs there , so no more having to go to Labcorp.
Yup, Jamie was working for her father for many years. I'm sure she picked up his wonderful bedside manner. Her dad was an excellent diagnostic doctor. Looks like she's taking after dad.
Merkel good, but his staff is so nasty. Left him as soon as Dr. Rygelski came in. She helped me so much. Gave me less meds and I feel so much better. Got tired of waiting 45 min for Merkle. I was away (6 hrs) when my mom died and ran out of blood pressure meds. .my ins had changed and I had a different copay. Office would not call them in until they checked it. It was Fri afternoon. So very nasty. Thankfully, CVS helped me out.
Thank you all so much! Your comments and recommendations are very helpful and appreciated.
Dr. Auciello is great and her staff are polite, responsive and follow through with what they say they will do. Dr. Hamaoui, new to the practice, is wonderful - competent, responds to all questions (phone/email) and kind.
Dr. Auciello's office used to be great but I've been disappointed in the last year. When I called to make an appointment, the office kept pushing her PA, Lori, instead of seeing Dr. Auciello herself. Twice I was really sick so made the appointment with Lori and did not find her advice sufficient and found her to be a bit pushy. I did not get better when following her recommendations and ended up having to see Dr. Auciello afterwards.
I have also been HUGELY disappointed in the wait time. I have waited from 30 minutes to over an hour and 15 minutes to see Dr. Auciello. I find this extremely inconsiderate of my time, especially when I take time off from work to fit into an open appointment.
I am shopping for a new primary care physician.
Jamie Rygielski is fantastic & having on-site blood draw makes it a win-win for me.
I also highly recommend Dr. Jamie Rygielski. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Her father was an incredible physician as well.
Anyone know a gp I can see tomorrow ( Saturday ) have to o to work today ....sore throat , fever, tired, chills, achey..
Fever not great in going to work. Does your insurance cover Urgent Care,? they are open 7 days a week
Merkle is open alternating Saturdays but I don't know if tomorrow is one of them or not.
She is majoring with the geriatric population. I have heard only great things about her.
Only negative thing is she is in the office of Dr Auicello (for those who do not like her). I am not sure if she is part of her practice but the office help is for both doctors.
I would not go to Dr Auicello because of her PA.
Dr Jamie Rygielski or Dr Merkel are better doctors than Aucillo
Dr. Auciello is a wonderful doctor who is very much in demand. The office help is not hired by her but by the company. I too prefer to see her rather than the PA, but she’s only one person. Who btw doesn’t hire the other doctors either. At least that is my understanding.
She helped diagnose Nj. Life threatening cancer I had and recommened the surgeon who performed the surgery. Hands down Ingrassia. How dare you claim otherwise as she saved my and cares about her patients.
Got a letter from Atlantic Health that Dr. Hamaoui is no longer seeing patients at Dr. Auciello's office. Does anyone know where she will be? My husband goes to her & really liked her. Seems there is no information about it being provided.
