Greek Restaurants?
There is Lebanese which is very similar and has some cross over in items, but no Greek. Closest for Greek is Stroudsburg as far as I know.
Don't know if it's any closer than Stroudsburg, but Montclair also. I think maybe Somerville?
The Mezza House in town....I think it's Lebanese, not Greek. Haven't tried it yet, but heard good reviews.
Laura - It's called Olga's. It's right across from Stroud Mall. If you know Bridge Street, it's got McDonald's on the one corner and a strip mall you have to enter via 9th. Olga's is in that strip mall.
It's good. I will say though that Stroudsburg's Lebanese (Cedar's) is even better. You can get good Lebanese here in town at Mezza if you don't want to travel.
Village Gyro in Flemington makes a pretty mean Moussaka. They also have tons of fresh Greek baked goods.
Somerville does have one across the street from the Courthouse on Main St. I can't remember the name of it though.
"Wondering if there are any Greek Restaurants in the area?"
So far, the answers have been Lebanese places and Greek places 20+ miles away. Heck, Elmwood Park is close to 50 miles away! Haha! I love this forum.
BTW - May I suggest that Athens might have Greek restaurants. ;-)
actually it's only 51 minutes away - not cheap but very worth it and less than a flight to athens
I found this in Boonton and the menu looks amazing

I believe there is a Greek Restaurant in Hastings Square on Rt. 24 in Hackettstown (heading south a block or two from the golf course).
Usually before Easter Greek Orthodox church in Randolph has Greek food sale, it also has Greek festivals.
There's a new Turkish restaurant in Mt.Olive called Istanbul Cuisine. Not Greek, but also similar. We're actually planning on trying it next weekend.
Zaytun was Lebanese. Fasil in Boonton is Turkish.
For a Greek Festival, the Greek church in south Stroudsburg does it every year and is two blocks from one of my cousins. It's home cooked style and dirt cheap. That Olga's that was mentioned helps out with the festival.
It's still out of the area in my definition, but I should mention Randolph Grill House is darn good. They do all sorts of pizza & calzones, but Greek food too.
And while we're on the subject of straying from the exact topic - if you ever want Greek catering instead of a restaurant, that's available locally.
I don't know any local but if your out of the area or willing to travel, Greek Taverna in Glen Rock is phenomenal. Authentic and fresh. I always get the whole roasted fish.
Wonderful Greek restaurant in Bloomfield - name escapes me...on Broad St. Also a so-so Greek restaurant in Montclair - corner of Gates Ave and Bloomfield. Both not close but w/in 50 miles of Hackettstown.
"not close but w/in 50 miles of Hackettstown."
Well, just 65 miles (the drive without traffic is a little bit longer than 1 hour) and you are in Astoria where you can find plenty of great Greek restaurants and food. No need to fly to Athens.
Lebanese and Turkish cuisine is different from Greek.
I wouldn't consider Mediterranean Bistro a Greek restaurant... truth be told, I barely consider it at all. I wouldn't eat there for free.
