Abandoned Racetracks in Flanders?

I was looking on Google Maps to find directions, and I was surprised to notice two seemingly abandoned racetracks behind the Tractor Supply and Weis (fmr. A&P) in Flanders. I've never heard of these or heard the sound of racecars like in Great Meadows. Anyone know what they are?

I'm gonna go with horse tracks. Looks like they are part of a farm. There used to be one just like that over on Rockport road.

Notice the stables next to the practice track on the far right. Looks like someone raising trotters. I don't recall those being back there in the late 1970 or early 1980's, when that was all corn fields, so they are probably more recent.

I grew up about a mile away from there and you're right it was a facility for training trotters called Marveland Farms. I believe they sold it about a year or two ago and now the bulk of it is being turned into houses for a 55 and older community.

If you've ever driven past there on Pleasant Hill, you'd know the property across from the golf course is all white picket fences. Race horses, not race cars. You see signs up for "Equestrian Center" at the 4 way stop sign.

Do a web search on "Marveland" if you want the full history.

I believe the lower part/practice track is being redeveloped by 'Troll' Brothers as Regency At Flanders.

I was told by a neighbor, who's family has been in town since the early 1900's ( not sure exact date) that told me there was a horse racetrack in Hackettstown in the area of Lafayette and Park. I would love to see pictures of that. When it rains a lot and the ground gets really soft I have old wood files come up through the ground. Wonder what else is back there.
