Favorite Cookie Recipe?

Ok, I want to make some really tasty cookies. Just made Snickerdoodles and they are ok. Anyone have any fabulous cookie recipes to share? Kind of overkill on line. Little tired of chocolate chip. :) Thanks!!

From my Welsh mother, one of her Christmas cookie recipes:

NUT BALL COOKIES

1/2 lb. butter
4 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 cup confectioners sugar

Mix all ingredients except confectioners sugar. Form into 1 inch balls, bake at 350 degrees on an ungreased cookie sheet until lightly brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Roll in confectioners sugar while still warm.

These are favorites in my family. I really only bake at Christmas but these are a must have and are so easy. You can also experiment with different chocolate and nuts. My friend does them with peanut butter chips and chopped peanuts.

All of these are go-to recipes for us.

These are easy, moist and delicious brownies that you stir together in a saucepan. I use 4oz unsweetened choc instead of 5 so a box will last for 2 batches.
And try adding 1 tsp of instant espresso power.

Jam thumbprints are another favorite in our family. For this one we use seedless black raspberry jam, vanilla extract instead of almond, and often they are eaten before we get to the glaze!

And one more- soft and chewy ginger molasses cookies.

To me peanut butter cookies should be flaky which means shortening, not butter. Use a fork to create the cross hatch pattern for them. But anything with butter is no peanut cookie to me.

For the best recipes, just do a Forum Search. Molasses cookies are the ones I've said before, and some thumb prints and Welsh cookies are the best. Recipes are available from many previous posts.
