Hackettstown Life Photo Walk Revived
It's finally spring, for a brief bit, time to dust off those cameras and get outside.
Let's revive the HL Photowalk!
For those who may not remember, we had several meetups to just wander around and take pictures to later be shared on this site. We've done to Waterloo Village, the barn on 517 in Allamuchy Mountain State Park, and Point Mountain, and Ken Lockwood Gorge.
Photographers of all skill level and any camera types are invited.
For starters, maybe 5/19 would be a good day, either noon or 2pm. We can discuss this. Any ideas for locations?
Alumni Field and Riverfront Park has plenty of wildlife including birds (Belted Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, Green Herons, Red Winged Blackbirds and elusive woodpeckers), turtles, frogs, fish, ducks and the occasional snake.
Waterloo village has wildlife and historic buildings in varying states of decay.
There's always Stephens State Park, Hacklebarney State Park or Jenny Jump State Park, and numerous other small parks and lakes within about a half an hour drive. Please keep ideas somewhat local and accessible.
Good Idea, but last time we tried this no one was interested. I have a hard time getting people to go to catered photography meetups.
we would both be interested but that weekend won't work for us--we're regularly in Riverfront Park , Waterloo, and Stephens - I used to go on NJ Flickr Meet ups - lots of fun as well as good tips
I'd be interested, 2:00 would be better. I just did the Waterloo midnight hike a few weeks ago and took some pics with my phone. I like nature photography, but abandoned building are my favorite.
Is there interest in getting together for a photo-walk? Sundays are best for me personally but I'd gladly meet if I'm free another day.
I wrapped up covering high school sports last week & now it's Summer baseball time (HS/college pyramid league & Somerset Patriots/Trenton Thunder)
I'm also covering live music for The Star-Ledger/NJ.com ~ last week it was Imagine Dragons/Grace VanderWaal and next week, I'm headed to Pop Evil/Cheap Trick/Poison.
I would love to (I used to really enjoy our HL photo walks) but honestly my life is just crazy busy right now. I don't think I've even taken a pic with anything other than my iPhone in months. (How sad is that lol.) But they were such great get-togethers, and I do hope they will continue for others....
