Are these the same brothers who fix your car?

Or are they the five guys who make awesome burgers and fries?

I got Al Pastor and Longanisa today. They were good with a log of toppings. They gave me 5 of each even though the menu says 4 of the Longanisa. I like their tortillas more than other places. Not as thick and puffy.

They were doing a decent business after only being open a little while.

I almost forgot to post about my trip there. I got the carnitas toras. Big sandwich with the meat, avacado, jalapenos, and other goodies. Got a side of rice and beans as well, don't think it was on the menu but they were happy to make it. Overall very delicious. I'll be back to actually try their tacos.

"Just got a coupon from moneymailer."

Any info on there regarding a website? I get a different Money Mailer out here in Oxford than folks in H'town get.

Re: 5 brothers taqueria just opened today

Totally forgot that Money Mailer has a website. Here is the back of the coupon with the menu on it. Guess I won't be eating there. I don't see any chicken tacos. :-(

I cant's say I tried it myself, but Calico, the "Raise the Dead" soup is chicken and should be right down your alley. ;-)

But you are correct, no chicken tacos.

Ty calico, great site. Smart guys— coupon w/o hours....

Can i get tripe and tongue together?

Strangerdanger - Yes. And I'd be happy to pay for that *personally* to see you enjoy it. ;-)

Hmmmmm, good one GC. All I can respond with is:

"Después de ti, mi querido Alphonse"

Jump to "catchphrase" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphonse_and_Gaston

stop the double entendre but wait, the....stuff...gets deeper..... "The name Alphonse is a boy's name of German, French origin meaning "noble, ready for battle".

tada --- clever, ain't I.....not.

Personally, I prefer Chip & Dale trying to see who goes first...

But you forget previously discussing eating such nasty bits. I've eaten head cheese, and blood sausage, and haggis, and scrapple, and pepperpot soup, (yes Ashley's used to have tripe soup which was not bad at all) and even souse.

My offer stands, including *sharing* some together. ;-)

Nooooooooo……. sorry, thank you for your most kind offer.

Re: 5 brothers taqueria just opened today

My buddy and I had dinner there Friday night. We both had the bottle drinks at $2. I liked that they have Tamarind there, just like Main St. Cafe does. It's one of my favorite flavors.

He had the Tamales (2 for $2.50) and the Suadero (Fried Beef) Tacos (5 for $9) and I had the Sopes y Gorditas de Frijoles Bean and Fried Beef on soft, thick corn Tortillas (4 for $9). We both agreed that the beef had an excellent flavor to it. The seasoning was there and made it very tasty, but not overpowering. They had a "sauce bar" on the side with which to add various heats and types of sauces to your tacos. My dish was excellent and required no additional sauce. My buddy didn't realize that he'd started with the hottest sauce and it snuck up on him rather quickly, so he opted for another drink, but he was fine after that, lol.

The music was good and not overly loud and the young lady who served us was very helpful, though I admit that her English seemed a bit limited, but I'm sure that will get better with time.

We finished up by going next door to Monchy's, since we both were never able to get to dessert there after ordering one of their main dishes. I'd only ordered a side dish at 5 Brothers, just for that purpose, since we found their dessert section to be pretty limited. I'd have loved to see a good Flan on the dessert menu.

Here's a pic of the front and back of the menu:

5 Brothers Taqueria just reopened up on schooley’s Mountain Rd better than ever. Went in about a week ago, great service food is fresh. You can split a taco order in 2 so I got 2 chicken and 3 beef the sauces that came with it soooo good made fresh everyday 10/10 recommended.

Since Sam didn't say WHERE on Schooley's Mt. Rd., I figured I'd let others know so they don't have to look it up too.

It's at 470 Schooley's Mt. Rd., Unit 1, in the Hastings Square Shopping Mall, to the left of Gordon's Jewelers, Bruno's Pizza and Szechuan Palace.

Is this take out only or can you eat there?

Bessie

The one downtown was eat in and take out. While I haven't been there yet, they should be eat in, as well as take out, just like the old location.

Maybe "Sam" will come back and tell us all...

Yes you can eat in the space is pretty big.

We ordered from the taqueria on Schooley's Mountain road recently and were very happy with our tacos. The space is bright and large and plenty of tables to sit at. It's very close to the UPS Store. All of the tacos we tried were delicious and portions were a good size. We will be going back for sure.

Plus is you can walk a couple of doors over and have dessert at Ritas! WIN!
