Huge Building being built in ITC
Does anyone know what that large warehouse looking building is being built in the Trade Zone in Mt Olive?

4catmom Given today's commercial real estate economy, my guess would be that it's going to be a warehouse. Not much else being built these days...
ianimal It's a warehouse. The plans for the areas in the ITC have been in place for many, many years.
The Indy 517 deal are apartments, 4cat. You had commented in that thread as well.

Greg Greg - I believe this is north of the current construction process - not adjacent to quick check - no construction going on there now -just clearance of the land - no activity noted recently --
Ah you are talking further up the road where they had cut all the trees down and left an unsightly mess. Other than recently cleaning up all that timber a bit, you are correct it seems to be just a farming field still. Lets hope it stays that way....

Me too! However there was a resolution passed by the Allamuchy Land Use Board last November following a series prior meetings discussing an application related to that property. Unfortunately the minutes have not been updated on the website since April of 2021. Unless folks were in attendance or now request the minutes we will have to wildly speculate! LOL. Could be just clearing the trees in front or something a bit more involved. I guess we will find out eventually.
ConsigliereGreg, didn't the County cut those trees down to create a staging area for roadwork they were doing?
Ian- I'm not sure. The piles of trees and brush were never moved or even tended to until recently and they are still there albeit in a much more tidy fashion. It never really created much more space for staging unless that is coming. Honestly I don't recall noticing anything there but there may have been.

It appears the area on 517 will remain as it is, a farm field now visible from the roadway. The application and approval was simply for changing the existing one-sided billboard to a two-sided billboard. In fact the lumber is laying next to it for the alterations. The tree and brush removal was was just housekeeping on the property.
If you're talking about the area before the 80 overpass, it's a new and bigger factory for one of the companies that currently has a factory in the trade zone.
Htown Resident Before they put the walls up (with no windows or doors) it looked like there was already a bunch of servers taking up the entire interior. So I figure it’s either a cloud based storage facility or a bitcoin mining operation. It’s definitely not a manufacturing facility or a warehouse.
Georgette It’s Barretta. They make salami. They are building another one across the street in ITC
