Knee Specialist

I need recommendations for an orthopedic knee doctor in Hackettstown. I had previously seen, and really liked, Dr. Dundon at the Orthopedic Institute on Bilby Road, but discovered this morning that he is no longer there.
I had switched to Dr. Dundon several years ago because of no success with the Skyland's Ortho place. I was very pleased with the results at the Orthopedic Institue but would just like some thoughts some of you may have or opinions of the doctors there.

I see Dr. Gutkin at the Orthopedic Institute, and he's great, but his specialty is back and spine. Dr. Sayde specializes in knees, and a friend thought he was really good too. They also have a few other knee specialists. Best of luck!

Thank you, Kelly. I did find him online, but I don't want to drive that distance.

I go to Parsippany or Morristown, just got the gel, it's better. Have been doing shoulder for a few years. All as good as it gets. Guy is real plain and simple and I have complete trust that he will not suggest more advanced options until it is time.

Ten years ago my left knee was very painful - the cure was a total knee replacement. I made the appointment but started taking large daily doses of glucosamine sulfate with chondroitin sulfate. Slowly the knee recovered and I was able to walk approximately 5 miles a day again. I cancelled the total knee replacement. After a motorcycle accident 3 years ago the right knee followed suit and currently is recovering. The left knee is fine now. I still take the supplements at high dosages.
I know people who swear that the knee replacement as a Godsend and others that are never pain free again. The glucosamine sulfate supplement seems to lubricate the joints - I can tell when I try to taper off the high dosage.
Replacing the entire joint when the cartilage is torn seems like Civil War surgery yet I see it prescribed for elderly people in poor health near the end of their life. I would explore other options first.
