New Place in Town (Restaurant)....Bruno's
My friend and I just enjoyed perhaps the best cheesesteak I ever had at Bruno's which is located on Stiger street in the strip mall behind Bank of America..(replacing the former C&L Subs)...They have breakfast all day there as well. I think the word is getting out and today the wait was pretty long for us to get our meals as they were short of help and obviously very busy. The manager mentioned they need to hire more help (obviously) so if interested and qualified call 908-287-7410 or stop by. We will definitely be back....
The previous owner of Stella G was named Bruno. Did he re-surface or just a coincidence?
I stopped by yesterday as well. The man behind the counter, I presume the owner was a former employee of C&L. I had him make me the C&L sub as I've been really craving one. He gladly obliged even though it's obviously not on the menu. They were quite busy and short staffed for now. I enjoyed the sangwich for sure!
Any one know what the breakfast menu is like? Sunday morning at the diner has
been chaos lately. Just looking for somewhere close to go. Thanks!
Their want ad in the HL Classifieds has the flyer that was sent in the mail. They have two other locations - Lebanon and Califon. It doesn't seem likely the owner of two deli's would be working as an employee for someone else. And that's definitely not Bruno G - they sold the restaurant specifically to retire.
Hastings is called Bruno's Pizza and Pasta. This new one is Bruno's Deli and Grill.
Good to know there is another breakfast option in town. Will wait a few weeks so that they get a chance to hire some help!
Right its not Bruno G. The young lady at the register stated he was an employee of C&L then opened this place under the Bruno moniker. She said this when I asked her about making the C&L sandwich. She was not familiar with it and asked him. I told him I'd stop back in Monday to let him know how I liked the sandwich. I'll get the details then! LOL. As far as I know, Bruno's pizza is not the same. I'll ask Pizza Bruno as he is my neighbor.
Good afternoon, everyone!
This is Alex from Bruno's. I want to clarify that we are not connected to Bruno's Pizza. We're a distinct, family-owned business eager to serve the Hackettstown community. Your open and honest feedback is always welcome, as we aim to make Hackettstown feel like home. Looking forward to serving you all!

Alex....I think I met you with my friend on Saturday and got to meet Stephanie (knew her family for years). Hope you get the additional help you need as I have a feeling you are going to be super busy there soon. Need you guys for that really good food and all day long hours to go there for it. hoping for all day Sunday too...Wishing you the very best in your new endeavor here in Hackettstown...joyful
Hi Alex and welcome to the neighborhood! I wish you all the best and look forward to meeting in person in the near future
A question: Have you or anyone taken over the Cluck U Chicken franchise?
Next question: Do you do fried chicken?
I have a suspicion I am not alone looking for some good local fried chicken!
My friends and I went on Tuesday and the food was really really good..They do need more help, try it if you have not gone but you may have to wait, I think it is worth it
Had it over the weekend - it's legit and I recommend. Looking forward to trying more of their menu!
My husband & I enjoyed 2 double BEC sandwiches. They were delish & filling & the price was decent. However, the service is abysmal. The guy taking the order was very slow & could not understand our order. We told him 3 times & the guy cooking in the back came out to confirm our order. We waited 15 minutes & the place was not that busy at all. They need help desperately as the slow guy isn't going to cut it. When I went to pay, I stood there for a good 3 minutes while both guys were in the back & then the slow guy came out to get something & I had to wait for him to get whatever it was to bring back to the kitchen & then come back for me to pay.
