What A.I. says about Hackettstown .. A.I. thoughts
Hackettstown, NJ, nestled in Warren County, offers a charming blend of history and modernity. With its roots dating back to the 18th century, the town boasts well-preserved Victorian architecture and a picturesque Main Street. Home to Centenary University, Hackettstown exudes a vibrant, academic atmosphere. The annual Mummers’ Parade and springtime Victorian-themed events highlight the community’s lively spirit. Renowned for its diverse cuisine, Hackettstown’s local eateries contribute to its culinary appeal. The town’s blend of tradition and contemporary vibrancy makes it a distinctive gem in New Jersey.
Here is why I personally find it so scary. Arguably the fastest technology jump in history A.I. really only hit the public domain last year… And where it is now, only 1 year later is somewhat frightening. As of now over half of our written news is generated by AI… and if you watch any video online chances are it's been either partially or fully generated by AI… Authors and many types of artists livelihoods are endangered by AI.. If you went on to an AI bot right now and said “write me a novel” about anything, you will have a fully finished book in under an hour… and then run it through another site like qwillbot, to render it undetectable and you can add your book to Amazon today and become a published author. If you watch Youtube, nearly every big creator uses AI to help produce the video.. I could go on and on... But the most glaring fear has to be for the future. School teachers #1 job, aside from teaching, is running every piece of student’s work through an AI detector. And colleges or Universities… if a student really wanted a bachelors in anything AI would carry them right through to graduation… None of us can predict the future, but with the world’s dependance on AI only one year later, it's not difficult to see where this is going. However, genuine human thoughts on this topic is the one thing A.I. can’t generate and love to hear ‘em. Also, do we still have a Mummer’s Parade?
Interesting post and topic.
Not so sure about the "Mummer's Parade" part (might be referring to the St. Patrick's Day parade - as some of the bands come outside the area and offer a Mummer's type of dancing and feel), however the rest of the write up about Hackettstown was fairly acuate.
As you pointed out - it's here and advancing quickly - hard to predict the future, but we should at least be aware of the potentials.
I've noticed that on ebay as a seller you can now select to have AI write the item description rather than yourself for the item. The results are poor, vague descriptions in items were details matter.
It's a tech in it's infancy . Hell as far as I'm concerned so is text to speech since when I say Mount Olive Library into my tablet to Alexa it comes up with Love Library !
AI = trust even less than you do already -that you read online..............
Really frightening - despite some of it's usefulness
I think we need less artificial intelligence and more human intelligence.... and common sense.
