JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary-
This position will assist in the processing of the weekly payroll, which will include compiling and recording employee time and payroll data, generating and disseminating paychecks, distribution of sales and labor reports, preparing payroll tax payments, and all other tasks associated with finalizing the weekly payroll. Additionally, the Payroll/Human Resources Clerk will assist in the coordination of various human resource tasks that include benefits administration, employee training coordination and other human resource related responsibilities.

Essential Functions-

1. Process weekly transfer of payroll data from PeopleSoft (Wakefern) to in house payroll system.
2. Compile payroll data such as garnishments, paid time off, insurance and all deduction types.
3. Poll electronic time clocks and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
4. Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.
5. Compile internal management sales and labor reports from payroll system.
6. Payroll/HR System Maintenance
7. Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, employee enrollment process, employee change reporting and communicating benefit information to employees.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and offsite records maintenance is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.



Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday, 7:00am to 4:00pm; Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Preferred Education and Experience:

College degree preferred, but not necessary.

Other Required Skills:

Language Skills - ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group’s executives, managers and other clients.

Mathematical Skills - ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
