Orange Tabby Cat Found
I found a very sweet orange tabby cat on Alphano Road in Great Meadows about 1/2 mile in from Rt 46. I believe it is a girl, so very affectionate, delirious from heat and exhaustion and walking in the middle of the road, Very thin with no collar but a loving, friendly disposition, purring and appears healthy. I am sure she has been lost and looking for home.
Please call Lisa at 973-476-4724.
If it isn't yours and you know of someone who would like her, please call !!!
Poor thing........thank God you found her! Post a picture because it will help if she does belong to somebody and will also help find a home if she nobody claims her.
Good for you, Lisa. I'm posting the information on my Facebook page, too!
Lisa,
The cat in the attached thread was lost some time ago (and subsequently found) -- just wondering if it might fit the description of the one you've found today?

Just a thought.
Hopeful, Baby Cat continues to remain at home after his big adventure. The cat Lisa found is not him.
Aquarius - That's "Mr." Baby Cat.....LOL
Lisa - So good of you to post here. I agree with Hastings Resident regarding the posting of his/her picture. It really does help.
I will post a picture tonight thanks for spreading the word. I am 99.9% sure this is a young female who slipped out and got lost. She's been out several weeks likely, very thin and was famished and probably dehydrated. I will be posting signs and contacting WRNJ also. Such a sweetheart it breaks my heart and the thought if someone is missing her!!
Calico - very true! He and I are on good terms so I hope he'll forgive me for for forgetting, LOL. Sorry, Mr. Baby Cat!
Did you call Animal Control? That's often the first place people check when an animal goes missing...
Here is a photo of the kitty I found last night. I called animal control and no one has reported a cat like this missing, please continue to spread the word. the picture isn't so great, she/he wouldn't stay still in one spot, just wants to get close and snuggle,. any help is appreciated.
I will be getting checked by vet tomorrow, if no one claims her soon and anyone wants this little love, please call me at the number above. I'll pay for vet bills!
What a cute kitty! I hope you find the owner. I wish I could take it, but we have a full house here.
Wow Lisa, not only are you caring enough to take the time to post this, take pics, and try to find this poor lost kitty its home (or a new home), but you're willing to cover the vet costs too. Kudos to you. You seem like a very good, warm person. There should be more like you!!
Suzique, kudos to you too for volunteering to chip in too. I would if I could, but I'm just not in a position to right now.
Have a great day and good luck finding this adorable kitty a home.
Kitty looks like it wants to insert middle finger in air instead making a pi$$ed off face haha
I will spread word see if anyone wants it.
Lisa - the cat you found looks a lot like the kitten we lost almost a year ago and were not able to find. Ours is a boy - can you let me know if you found out if it's a boy or girl?
Thanks so much - my kids would be in heaven if we found him after all this time.

Liberty mom,
I have an orange stray around my house. Looks to be about a year or so old. I know its a male as we have seen him in action
Lisa, Is the nose on this cat especially long for an average cat. My neighbor's cat had a habbit of following the kids to school and come back home but has been missing for several months. I would know the very second I saw Sunny if it were him or not. VERY interested in looking at the cat PLEASE.
By "nose", I mean the entire muzzle of the cat. Sunny had the most unusal long muzzle for a cat.
LIBERTY MOM, this kitty is definitely a girl, sorry it's not the one you lost about a year ago I sure hope you find him one day.
MELISSA, If Sunny was a boy then I'm sorry to say this isn't him. This girl does have a longer snout that usual but she is also very thin so it likely appears longer than it actually is.
She is also declawed in the front :( Didn't realize this at first since she was so docile and calm the first couple nights...she is feeling better and moving around some more, wants to explore!
I took her to the vet tonight and she has no leukemia or aids (thank goodness) and she is actually an older cat than I had thought (she has some teeth missing, either from extractions or age).
Please keep spreading the word. I will be putting some flyers around town this weekend and will try to post a better photo.
Thanks everyone.
I have been looking online.......no luck. Of course there is the possibility if she has an owner, they have not posted online. I will make a flyer at work and fax it to as many vet offices in the area I can find. I know some owners will put flyers in local vet offices. I think they just do not know all the ways of getting the info out. The fact that she is female really narrows the search since most orange tabby's are male.......
Hastings Resident, the problem-too many places on line to look and some people don't even bother, some don't have a computer and like you said they don't know what to do.
there was one lost in long valley last year, cats travel so far, it's hard to believe.
too bad animal control doesn't post pictures of the animals they pick up in NJ, that would help too.
Lisa it was great of you to take care of the cat, good luck in finding the owner or a new home. There are so many stray cats, it breaks my heart
you guys are great
An orange tabby cat was turned in to animal control in Independence today, also from Alphano Road. Lisa, did you lose track of this kitty? I find it incredibly strange that two orange tabby's could be found on Alphano Road. This cat is also very friendly, sociable and calm. If anyone believes this is their cat or would possibly like to adopt this cat, please call Animal Control at 908-813-3832
The kitty is still in my laundry room. I am calling her Tigger. She is an older cat declawed front paws likely spayed vet visit showed teeth missing either from extractions or age. Orange tabbys are very common on this road and this is the 3rd one my family has picked up in less than 3 years on alphano My mother found an orange cat hit by a car a few yes ago... luckily it wasn't hurt badly and Al has been with her ever since. I found a 6 wk old orange kitten by godlewski farm 1 1/2 years ago and tiger is now one of my pets. tiger is a female too which is unusual for orange tabbies they typically are males. Thanks for all your help trying to find this kitty's owner! I put signs around great meadows and at shoprite. Vet office is a great idea.
Lisa,
Someone sent me to this post after I posted our lost orange tabby cat on Craigslist. She fits your description, but she is not declawed so it is probably not our Tiger Lily. Just wanted to say thank you for taking such good care of this cat. As someone who is still missing their cat, it is greatly appreciated!
I'm going to post a picture of Tiger Lily for you anyway, just in case! You never know! (If anyone has seen her, please email or call 973-409-4835)
"I am calling her Tigger."
That's not such a bad idea. There are worse things to call a cat than that you know. ;-)
Certain its a female? Does she have a split ear? Cannot tell from the picture. What date was she found? Will check back soon! Down here in Howell but theres people building a house nearby and Ive heard since looking that they had a problem with a cat going in the house, but if it is for sure declawed it is not what we are looking for, but the name is "littles" autumn and very friendy.
Tigger is definitely female, vet confirmed this. Noel, that orange cat is beautiful, much fuller body and face, Tigger is putting on a little weight but has a thinner face and deeper and more sunk in eyes. The vet also confirmed she is an older cat than I had originally thought. Not sure how old but she has some teeth missing and likely been spayed.
