Cats eating stink bugs
My husband and I have been entertained this evening by Marla the huntress on the prowl for the stinky suckers. They repulse me, but she loves to hunt and eat her kill. She is about 15 months old and has been eating them and moths and any other little buggies for about a year now. She has never shown any ill effects except for licking her lips for about 10 minutes after. Does anyone else have a cat that does this? She is a cute little tiny thing with the heart of a lion. I attached a shot I just took with my camera phone. Not too bad I must say!

mona She's very cute!She has a high prey drive! I can't imagine the stink bugs taste too good, LOL! One less stink bug in the world is the way I see it. I can't stand them. My dog (rest her soul) would eat anything that moved. Even an ant!
Jaemae I have never seen my cat show the slightest interest in stink bugs, but she is picky. I haven't seen many stink bugs lately, but that may be because the little brown bat the has been plastered to the back of my house has been eating them. I would rather have the cat do it :'(
maja Awwww!!! She is a cutie. My jack russell LOVES to eat them. She acts like she's eating potato chips:) My rat terrier would look at her as if she was nuts, and then I guess he thought he was missing out so he now eats them as well.
When I see one I just call them and tell them to "Get It" and they do. Funny though when they taste it they chew really fast and act like they just ate a sour ball so I'm not sure why they keep doing it!

Your Calico baby is beautiful. My four lazy felines won't go near the stink bugs! We have been getting a bunch again now that it's cold. I HATE THEM!!! My husband sent away for a stinkbug guide--to getting rid of them.. It said if you squash them they send out a distress like call to the other stinkers(send reinforcements) So we gently grab the stinkers in a tissue and flush them! My cats do love moths and other bugs.. Hey it's protein for them.Do you see more stinkbugs after she kills one?

Marla certainly looks like quite the hunter. My cat, Lily, likes to stalk, chase down and kill the stink bugs, but leaves the clean up for me. It's pretty entertaining, except for the clean up part.

cf - I find it pretty funny that your cat is in a box that says "Just Do It"... and he's sound asleep. He's "just doing it".... cat-style.
Thanks everyone for the compliments about Marla. She lives with one of her littermates (I will have to post a pic, she looks the same but different...) that has no interest in bugs. She is the tiniest thing and is more of a begging chow hound then my dog, LOL! She will eat almost any human food and she stands on her back legs and begs/cries while you eat.... They are sooo funny.
I just love all the cat pictures. I have a male, black & white, and he is a one person kind of guy. He would never think of sharing me with another cat, otherwise, I would probably have at least 3 more.
joygail My daughters kitten will eat the stinkers too. She has had a few past couple months. My daughter says he smells like a stink bug but so far no ill affects on him
