Local Christmas events?
I'm interested in finding some good local Christmas events/concerts appropriate for families with children, that are inexpensive. We're not really into the Santa activities, but more musical or religious-oriented.....Any suggestions?

10yrtownie Hackettstown Community Band free concert at Panther Valley Ecumenical Church, Rt. 517 Thursday, 12/5.
Hackettstown BID Main Street event 6-9 Friday 12/6: Hackettstown Historical Society Museum at 106 open 5-9 with special antique Santa display and refreshments; shops open, Colonial Musketeers and Hackettstown Community Band performing, horse drawn carriage rides at Centenary, tree lighting at gazebo, parade with Santa at firehouse.
Hackettstown Historical Society Museum Santa display decorated for Christmas and Santa display continuing until 12/24. Will be followed with a display of antique toys made in Hackettstown that will run through January.
Various activities at area churches and at Centenary
wcguy The Stone Soup Symphony presents a free Christmas concert December 14 at 7 P.M. in the First Presbyterian Church 298 Main Street, Hackettstown.
Selections include Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, Christmas classics and more.

GC Drakestown United Methodist Church is having a Live Nativity this Sat., Dec. 7, at 6:30 pm. Afterwards we'll have refreshments in our Fellowship Hall and goody bags for the children.
On Sunday, Dec. 15, at 4:30 pm, come enjoy cookies, carols and cocoa with us!
Any Sunday this month (during Advent), join us for Sunday worship at 10:30 am - the sanctuary is beautifully decorated for the season.

Hackettstown's Hometown Holiday Friday Dec 6,does anyone know if this is rain or shine? Wishing the forcast was for snow instead of rain..that would be great!!
Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some) opens this Saturday at Dover Little Theatre. This hysterical show has 3 actors who decide that instead of performing A Christmas Carol again, they will perform every Christmas story, Christmas traditions from around the world and every carol ever sung! Super funny. Doverlittletheatre.org. Only $17 per person.

Kevin T There is a concert at the Ecumenical Church on Rt. 517 this evening. Not sure what time it begins, but it is Christmas music by the Hackettstown Band. sorry I don't have more information. It is free I believe.
Half Way There Does anyone know if Hometown Holiday is going on tonight? Hopefully they will have a rain date. We really want to go. :)

darwin Check out the community crèche celebration this weekend..it's in morristown, but it's free, family friendly, and Christ-centered. There are dozens of gorgeous nativity and crèche scenes on display and live performances all weekend. I have a friend who is singing tomorrow night...she's amazing.
