Roy Garber, Shipping Wars, Dead at 49

He had a real New Jersey Attitude! He will be missed! I am still in shock.

He seemed like a good guy, with the rough persona not really what he was at the core. He loved his son, his cat and there were several times on the show where he did really decent things, like helping deliver stuff for a sick kid for free and helping a bunch of do-gooders with their project since it was clear they couldn't do it on their own (and he did it for free). True, he grumbled the whole time but that was Roy. RIP. Sympathies to his family.

Such a shame. He had an attitude but added a lot to the show. RIP Roy.

I liked Roy's saying " A nickel is holding up a dollar ". He came off as a little gruff, but very likable. The fact that he traveled with his cat made him more interesting.Sorry to hear of his passing.

I found him very unlikable but loved the fact that he cared so much about his cat. RIP!

He was funny in that he said to clients on a regular basis what everyone who deals with people regularly has WANTED to say on occasion, but has thought better of it. Whether that was just schtick for the show or his real personality, most of us on here will never know for sure.

On a happy note, Muffy's life expectancy has just skyrocketed now that she's no longer in that rolling smokebox. Seriously, this guy had a history of heart disease and still smoked the way he did? A long life was obviously not a priority for Roy.

This should signal the end of Shipping Wars. That show was practically unwatchable with him; without him, it's dead in the water. There isn't anyone with any personality left.

I will still watch the show for chris and robbie, they are my new favorite. They have some real nice rigs, but tend to be real full of themselves. Gotta love robbie though
