Accident by Allamuchy General Store May 2016

In celebration of Nurses Week, I'd like to give a shout out to 2 CCM nursing students that made me so proud of my profession & the infamous County College of Morris Nursing program!! Darrin Pulver, of Great Meadows and Christopher Tice, of Roxbury, were first on the scene this morning to a horrific accident where a young man driving a large truck, lost his brakes & crashed into multiple trees by the Allamuchy General Store. The man was ejected & bleeding profusely. These two nursing students went straight into action without hesitation!!! They were able to stabilize the man until EMS arrived & he was transported to the ER. Great job, boys!!!! Be proud of your courageous application of your knowledge & skills to
save a life!!!

Dear Irish RN,

Great post, and such kind words. My daughter is currently a CCM nursing student and when she returns home I will show her your post. I hope the young man is doing well.

Thanks for posting !

As a prior Army medic and registered EMT, I give them respect as well.

All too often these days people would stop- but instead of helping they take out a cell phone and hit record. Good job guys!

I hope the truck driver pulls through. Sounds like he purposely pulled off the road to avoid impact with other vehicles (speculation on my part, but nobody aims for a tree unless they have to)

Great job guys!! Proud to welcome you to the profession!!

The driver was my uncle. He did try to avoid hitting other cars and buildings and ran into the trees. He is pretty banged up (lots of stitches), but no broken bones or internal damage. Thank you to everyone who helped him! We are so glad he is ok.

Dear Briitany,
We are so happy to hear he is doing OK! He did an absolutely amazing job under the circumstances!! His quick thinking & remarkable driving prevented a much bigger catastrophe considering all the cars, people & buildings around that area. Please let him know we are thinking of him & praying for a speedy recovery!!! xo

IrishRN.....you may wish to reconsider your choice of adjectives for the CCM Nursing program.

Full Definition of infamous

1: having a reputation of the worst kind : notoriously evil

2: causing or bringing infamy : disgraceful

3: convicted of an offense bringing infamy

Im sure it was a type-o and they intended on inputting "famous;" either way, their intentions were solely meant to glorify the reputation of the nursing program.

I was behind this truck from route 80. As we were coming down the hill I was wondering why he was going so slow, but then thought maybe he was lost. Instead of whipping around him I stayed behind him listening to my inside voice. As we entered the intersection on the exit I could tell he wasn't sure what to do and then when he started beeping, I realized he had no brakes. I panicked for this man. Grabbing my phone but there was no time. I was just praying that he or anyone at the store would be ok because I knew what he was headed for....
It was a horrible feeling knowing what was going on and not being able to worn anybody, I couldn't imagine how the driver felt... 150 or more people had angels that day and about only 25 of us new it.. I pray for the mans recovery, he was a very brave person to stay in that vehicle and protect everyone that he could...WELL DONE
