Gift boxed Christmas cookies.
Harpers bakery is closed right now so I am looking for another bakery that sells Christmas cookies.
Funny how guys give women 60k kitchens only to have them order food out and buy cookies instead of baking them.
I guess kitchens are just for looks now.
Gone are the days like the show "Queen for the day."
Well callitlikeiseeit, I rent, and have no oven. There are teachers, and nurses, single dad's, etc and other reasons people can not bake several dozen cookies, this or any other time of the year. This thread is very helpful!
I'm curious to know why teachers, nurses and single dads cannot bake cookies? Do occupations and marital statuses have something to do with the ability to bake?
Not at all Calico696, but time is an issue. We are not all sitting in houses with 60K kitchens. Many of us are working, and taking care of essential home tasks. Baking is something people with time and the necessary equipment do. And picking up some already made cookies, might be the only way some of us are going to get them.
Working, caring for and schooling children, food shopping, cooking, cleaning the house, washing clothes, and other responsibilities may keep some folks from the Joy of baking cookies not only at Christmas but at any other time of the year. As others have mentioned Giancarlo's in Ledgwood on Rt. 10 has an excellent bakery with great cookies. There's a bakery on Rt. 57 in Mansfield - Just Made Bakery - (908) 852-7191. They do cakes and pies, but I don't know bout cookies.
Cookies are made by my daughter, and she got the recipe's from my mom, and from my wife's mother, and their piles of hand written ones. ( both deceased ).
A lot of bakeries, will get the majority of cookies, from Brooklyn NY, and just put them in their display cases.
Giancarlo's in Succasunna, is tops as far as we are concerned. As far as the filled specialty cookies are concerned, the doughnuts are awesome.
One may want to try Anthony and Sons, in Denville; off Rt. 53. They have an outlet in Succasunna by just before Sussex Tpk. on Route 10 headed eastbound. I don't think they have the cookies there, but their bread is to die for.
I went on Anthony and sons web site, but I didn't see any cookies.
Guys give women 60k kitchens... OMG is it 1940?? LOL LOL LOL that is the funniest thing I have read in years!!! I just can't..
JrsyGirl88 I agree but alas it is true.
Many families have huge kitchens and the only time they cook is when the kids get bored lol. Loads of counter space all used by kids with computer aims.
Well now with Roomba I guess the wife no longer has to vacuum. Could use that time to bake.
I'm not sure why men hire landscapers. I mean, their wives allow them to buy an expensive lawnmower and leaf blower, etc, yet they become lazy and hire someone. To that note, men who shop for and consume grocery's tick me off too. Shouldn't they be hunting and gathering?!
*that is how ridiculous your "1940's style" comment about women in their kitchens sounds*
"I'm not sure why men hire landscapers." Well, 2 things, first of all, real men don't hire landscapers, unless they are very wealthy and at that point they are not home or are working extremely long hours. Plus although men cook, clean and do laundry women don't climb ladders and clean gutters.
Commenting is no longer available.
